There are a couple of issues that have been on my mind lately and i need to get out.

Texting. When you text someone or you receive a text why dont you just respond? I mean yeah if your working or riding respond as soon as you can. At least I try to just so the person knows whats up. But in my experience i only text cool people and they either dont text back or respond days later when they feel like its appropriate to write something back. Its really annoying and fucking lame. If you dont want me to text you just write it! Im not trying to annoy anyone i text. Its mostly either a hanging out or riding question. And i always get left in the dark. Needy much? maybe wanting to hang out with friends has been a big issue as of lately.

Bicycle commuters. Yall suck. Or the ones with both headphones in that are on a mission from god to get back home and no one must be in their way! Passing on the inside every time and not telling the other rider. Yeah i know bike riding etiquette isn’t important to any of you. But by doing that it puts you and everyone else in danger. Writing this aint gonna make a difference but fuck its annoying! I wish i could clothes line every commuter that attempts to pass me on the wrong side. I peoples elbow you after, take your headphones out and step on them and tell you to be more respectful to everyone else and put your helmet on the right way.

I hate bikes..

Friends. I know it takes one to be one. But a lot of my high school friends are off doing their own adventures. My bike friends are either too cool for school, have burnt their bridges with me or i just have nothing in common except stupid fucking bikes. Im looking for a woman with the same interests! Not looking for a girlfriend but maybe a canidate! haha music, art, travel..etc it would be rad to hang out with a girl that gets me excited about all of it. But thats another list.

Im done. People suck..or maybe i do? Fuck bikes but keep riding.

So I road into a pedestrian today.

All day I was feeling great! None of my deliveries were late and it was a busy. Of course it’s when I least expected it. I was in the point (Levi’s plaza area) and I was making a right around a corner to a delivery.
Here comes a small mid 30s Asian woman. Doesn’t even look and I collide right onto her. She stays upright and I plummet to the ground.
Immediately I think to myself “did she even look?!” But y first reaction was asking if she was alright. Which she was but I was in shock. How coulda grown woman just walk out into the street like that without looking?!
I mean I know it happens a trillion time a day but I’m always on point when idiot adults don’t look before they leap! So now I’m left with a sore elbow and cut up finger. Tis the bike messenger life, but still sucks to get into such a rookie accident.

ANYWAYS! Just wanted to write it down.

71.9 miles. Beautiful outdoor scenery of the Berkeley County side.

Suffering was on the menu and everyone had two helpings. Ugh being a category four racer two years ago I came in sixth! Killing the climbs and descent sections the whole 40 something miles/two laps.

THIS YEAR! Right off the bat Team Squadra made their presence known. Constantly up front, making moves and working as a team. Helly jelly for sure. First and second lap I was feeling great! Stayed top 10 and made some dudes hurt on the climbs. Third lap though… Ugh your boy was diggin deep just to stay with the chase group.
Possibly because I hadn’t been hydrating myself days before racing. Or lack of resting. It could be a multiple issues. It’s been an issue since day one of racing. Drinking the right amount of water and electro whatever mix is key to succeeding physically! I can’t just put good gas in the tank and expect to hammer for 70 miles! My system needs to adjust to proper rest and hydration..

ANYWAYS! Last lap I was for sure at a front table in the pain cave. Really good drink specials and the hostess was bangin! As we came to the five mile mark to the finish the pace picked up a bit but it wasn’t enough to catch up to the break. “One minute” is what the moto judge kept telling out group around 15miles to the finish.
None of the Squadra dudes might of had a buddy in the break group so when they were up front of the chase pack they for sure blocked and kept the group in check. It sucked. Jason
Benford ( BRITEsport/gigaom) was just as frustrated as the group. Team Squadra was playing the game just right and did enough work to keep the competition back.
Papa bear came around. The last hill that contained the finish of course at the top. Came up quick. All the juniors in the field took off while the rest of the legit racers huffed and puffed our way to a suffering and painful finish.

I need to work on drinking more water and easing up on the gas. It just shows that I’m still learning and making mistakes as I go.

Red Kite Crit #3

Well poor planning by myself and my team mate Dave Mesa. We left the city and i took a wrong exit so i missed the only race i had signed up for. the cat 2/3 race.

Dave signed up for the P1/2 field and it was really rad to see him make strong moves and keep the group guessing! Such a powerful dude and glad to be on the same team. Rainier Schaffer(Mikes Bikes/Incase) and Joe Ison (BRITEsport/ Gigaomaro pistachios) were drilling also. Kudos to Joe for racing the 2/3 then jumping straight into the p1/2s. After briefly speaking with him he had said he felt better in the p1/2 race than the 2/3! ha damn

But just watching the P1/2 race the Strava team had the whole race on lock! Two of their racers worked the front of the peleton and one guy Craig? killed it on a pretty much entire race break until bell lap. Thats where he was caught and Dave McCook took the win.

One day i hope to be a 2 and really put my legs through the wringer! But for now im content on learning the moving and shaking of the Elite 3s.
